Dr. Tiffany Stanley earned her Masters in Counseling and Psychology from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas and her School Counselor Certification from Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Sexology from the American Academy Sexology and has earned the distinguished honor of being named an American Board of Sexology Diplomat. Dr. Stanley is a Texas Licensed and Nationally Certified Professional Counselor/ Psychotherapist and Texas Licensed Supervisor. She is a AASECT Certified Sex Therapist  (American Association of Sexual Educators, Counselors and Therapists). She has been in a private counseling practice in Austin for over 15 years. She is a member of the United States Sexual Counselors and Therapists Advisory Board, and a Registered psychotherapist for the Member of the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP). Dr. Stanley is an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained therapist.


Specialized and Trained-in Techniques


Tiffany specializes in working with adults and couples, to address and treat mental and emotional concerns, in order to promote optimum mental health. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to address sexual dysfunctional issues and fertility and other issues, such as anxiety (general anxiety, phobias and OCD), depression, stress management, self-esteem issues and body image.



Guided Imagery is a technique in which mental health professionals help individuals in therapy focus on mental images in order to evoke feelings of relaxation, is based on the concept of mind-body connection. Mind-body connection upholds the interaction between body and mind as one important factor in a person’s overall health and well-being. In guided therapeutic imagery, a person can call on mental images to improve both emotional and physical health.  




Cognitive Emotional Behavioral Therapy (CEBT) is a form of CBT developed initially for individuals with eating disorders but now used with a range of problems including anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and anger problems.




Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. To date, EMDR therapy has helped millions of people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress.

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy is a short-term treatment approach where the goal is the reconnection between partners. Designed to address distress in the intimate relationships of adults, EFT approaches include elements of experiential therapy, systemic therapy and attachment therapy.

With sensitivity and compassion, she help clients find solutions to a wide range of life challenges and psychological issues.

Blending conventional and alternative approaches, she draws on a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. Tiffany works with each client to help them build on their strengths to identify and achieve life goals.

Tiffany works to build a trusting relationship with her clients, where there is respect, acceptance, and understanding in a non-judgment and comfortable setting. Through the understanding of her client’s individual story, her goal is to help to educate and aid her clients to use their own inner intelligence and creativity to create the life they want for themselves. She works to help her clients to learn new interpersonal skills and knowledge about themselves and their environment.
